Steel Melting Plant 1

Design Capacity:   800000   tons/year                        

Plant Startup Date: 2000

Product: Low, Medium and high Carbon Steel Grades according to Egyptian and International Specifications with the following dimensions:

- Square Billets sections 130X 130 mm and 150 x150 mm, length 4 meter to 12 meters.

Furnace charge mix: the furnace is charged with a mix of scrap and DRI in present percentages.

 

Process Description:

Cold DRI and scrap are charged into the Electric Arc Furnace and melted by Electric and Chemical Energy, molten steel is tapped into Ladle, and transferred to Ladle Furnace where necessary ferroalloys are added to reach target chemical compositions of required Steel Grade. Afterwards, the ladle is transported to the continuous casting machine where it is casted through molds to form square billets according to required specifications.

Design Capacity : 1,280,000 Ton / Year

Plant Startup Date:  2013

Product:  Low, Medium and high Carbon Steel Grades according to Egyptian and International Specifications with the following dimensions:-

            - Square Billets 130X 130, 150 X 150, 165 X 165 m, 200 X 200 m Length from 6 to 14 meters

            - Round Billets diameters 220, 280, 350 and 400 mm, Length from 8 to 12 meters
